Meet Our Founder: Mr. Wang on 30+ Years in Textiles and the Future of Fabric

Hello everyone. Today, I want to share something very special with you. I am a member of the Fominte team. My English is still developing, but I am learning every day to better serve our friends and partners around the world. This week, I had the honor to sit and drink tea with our founder, Mr. Wang. He is usually very busy, but he shared his story with me. I want to try my best to write down his story for you.

Mr. Wang is our Founder and Creative Director. He is a very respected person in our company. He started his first business in the textile industry in 1993. I was very surprised when I heard this. 1993 was a long time ago! This means he has been working with fabrics for more than 30 years. This long journey is the foundation of Fominte.

The Start of a Long Journey

I asked Mr. Wang, "What was the textile industry like in 1993?"

He smiled and told me it was a very different world. At that time, most factories in China were focused on mass production. The goal was to make a lot of fabric very quickly and cheaply. The quality was okay, but it was not special. There was not much creativity. He said, "I saw many big orders, but I did not see much art. I felt that fabric could be more beautiful. It could have a soul."

This was a very important moment in our talk. I started to understand why Fominte is so different. From the very beginning, Mr. Wang did not just want to be a big factory. He wanted to make something with passion and high quality.

Why Fominte Was Born

My next question was, "So, why did you create Fominte?"

He explained that after many years in the business, he saw a new need. The world was getting smaller because of the internet. Many talented designers from Europe, America, and the Middle East wanted to find good fabrics from China. But it was difficult for them. They needed a supplier who not only produced fabric but also understood their creative needs. They needed a partner.

"I wanted to build a company," Mr. Wang said, "that could be the most professional fabric supplier for the whole world. A company that designers can trust. When they have a new, difficult, or crazy idea, they think of Fominte first. This was my original intention for Fominte."

He used a simple word: "partner". Not just a seller. A partner. This is a very important idea for our company. We are here to help designers solve problems and create beautiful things together.

Technology and the Artisan's Hand

I pointed to a photo of our factory in our meeting room. It showed our modern, state-of-the-art embroidery machines. I asked him, "You talk about art and soul, but we use these big, advanced machines. How do you balance technology and the human touch?"

His answer made me think a lot. "They are not enemies," he said. "They are a team." He explained that our machines, like the ones for our Beaded Embroidery, provide a level of precision that is impossible by hand alone. They can lay down thousands of sequins perfectly, following the designer's digital plan. This is the 'science' part.

"But the 'art' part," he continued, "comes from people. For our 3D Floral fabrics, the machine marks the perfect spot, but it is our skilled artisans who hand-sew each blossom, giving it life and a sculptural feel. The machine makes the perfect canvas, but the artisan paints the masterpiece." I think this is a beautiful idea.

The Future of Fabric

Finally, I asked him about the future. "What is next for Fominte and for textiles?"

Mr. Wang became very excited. He said the future is about three things. First, sustainability. He is very proud of our GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certification. He believes making beautiful things should not hurt our planet. Second, innovation. He wants our team to keep creating new things, like our Aqua-Weave process for Crochet Lace, which uses water to create lace that is impossibly light. Third, partnership. He believes the future is about working more closely with designers, offering custom sourcing and helping them realize their unique visions.

After our talk, I understand Fominte much better. It is not just a company that sells fabric. It is the result of one man's long journey of more than 30 years, and his big dream to be the best partner for designers everywhere.

We hope when you see our fabrics, you can feel this story too. We invite you to explore our collections and become a part of our journey.
